About Me
My approach to designing a brochure, page layout, book or web site, happens far before we even meet to discuss your business. As a graphic designer I am constantly looking at new ideas, styles, trends and new applications. It is a designer’s job to be consistently redefining and inspiring themselves. Just as fashion design has seasons so does graphic design have trends. It is very important for a designer to stay current with new ideas, styles and program applications. Once we meet, I gather as much information about your company or product as I can through a combination of personal conversations and Internet search.
The most important idea for me to start with is your message. This is the message that you want your clients to remember you by after viewing your logo, brochure, book design or web site. That message should do one of the following: sell, inform, entertain, persuade or educate. Once I have that message, then it's time to pull together visuals and content that drives that message. This is where experience in layout, type design and creative thinking all come together and make a big difference. Sometimes it comes in a spark of creativity, or with a lot of research, but I always strive to design a piece that inspires its viewers so that they react the way we want.
I originally received my B.S. degree in Graphic Communications from Cal Poly. I continued my education in graphic design at the School of Visual Arts, NY and recently at Los Positas C.C. I work on a Mac platform in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
